With Zyro, a lot of the SEO things such as the website speed and sitemaps are taken care of for you. However, there are a few things you can do yourself to boost your search engine rankings.
1. Edit meta titles and descriptions of your pages
You can add a meta (page) title and a meta (page) description to all of your web pages within the SEO tab.
In your dashboard, hover over a website thumbnail and click Settings.
Then click on the SEO tab, select the page you want to edit, and enter the page title and description.
The page title length should be up to 60 symbols (spaces in included).
The page description length should be up to 160 symbols (spaces in included).
When you’re done, don’t forget to click on Save changes and update your website.
If you can't see the page titles updated in the browser tabs online, follow these steps to troubleshoot it:
Make sure you updated the website.
Open the website via incognito mode/private browsing window
Open the website using another device (e.g. your phone, tablet, friend's PC)
Open the website using different networks (try Wi-Fi vs mobile data)
If none of the above solutions helps, contact Zyro Support
Keep in mind that it may take from 7 days to 4 weeks for the updates to reflect in the Google search results. However, you can speed it up - learn more about it here.
2. Edit alternative text for images
It's also very important for SEO to have alternative text for images, which will be used to make your website accessible to all (e.g. people using screen readers).
Select the image you want to optimize for SEO and click on Change image.
In the image settings, select the SEO tab and add your alternative text. Ideally, it should describe in simple words what can be seen in the picture. The alt text will be saved automatically.
Pro tip: With eCommerce plans, your store is automatically SEO-optimized.
3. Other ways to optimize your website for SEO
Check if the text on your web pages has the right keywords in it.
Submit your website's sitemap to Google.
You can also edit the page URLs for optimal searchability:
1. In the website editor, go to the Pages and navigation menu and click on the settings wheel of your page. Select Page settings.
2. Go to the General tab and edit your page URL. Don't forget to save your changes.
