With Zyro, a lot of the SEO things such as the website speed and sitemaps are taken care of for you. However, there are a few things you can do yourself to boost your search engine rankings.

Table of content

Meta titles and descriptions of your website pages

You can add a meta (page) title and a meta (page) description to all of your web pages at the website Settings → SEO.

From your dashboard, hover over a website thumbnail and click Settings.

Then, click on the SEO tab, select the page you want to edit and enter the page title and description.

  • The page title length should be up to 60 symbols (spaces in included).

  • The page description length should be up to 160 symbols (spaces in included).

Save the changes and update your website.

If you can't see the page titles updated in the browser tabs online, follow these steps to troubleshoot it:

  • Make sure you updated the website.

  • Clear the browser's cache.

  • Open the website via incognito mode/private browsing window

  • Open the website using another device (e.g. your phone, tablet, friend's PC).

  • Open the website using different networks (try Wi-Fi vs mobile data).

  • If none of the above solutions helps, contact the Zyro Support Team.

Keep in mind that it may take from 7 days to 4 weeks for the updates to reflect in the Google search results. However, you can speed it up by using Google Search Console - learn more about it here.

Hiding a page from search results

If you don't want particular pages to appear in the search results (in Google search and others), you can do so with a single click!

From your dashboard, hover over a website thumbnail and click Settings.

Then, click on the SEO tab, select the page you want to hide, and turn the Hide page from the search results option on.

Save the changes and update your website. Keep in mind that it may take from 7 days to 4 weeks for the updates to reflect in the Google search results. However, you can speed it up by using Google Search Console - learn more about it here.

Alternative text for images

It's also very important for SEO to have alternative text for images, which will be used to make your website accessible to absolutely everyone (e.g. people using screen readers).

Select the image you want to optimize for SEO and click on Change image.

In the image settings, insert a description of the image under Alt text. Your inserted text will be read for your website visitors who use screen readers.

Note: If you're running an online store, the alt text for the main product image is created automatically, using the same text as the product title. If you'd like to add alt texts to all product images (not only the main one), please contact the Zyro Success Team, and we'll enable this option for you.
