Note: The bellow-given instructions apply to e-stores created with Online Store and Advanced Store plans 💡

You can determine the order of your products that are displayed to your customers in your store. This can help improve the visibility of certain products and have a major impact on your click-through and conversion rates. In addition, your clients can still change the sort order to their preferred view.

Default product sort order

When you add products to your store, the default product sorting is set to “Defined by store owner”. You can drag and drop your products in the specific order that you’d like on the Catalog → Categories → Category products page.

Changing product sort order storewide

You can change the default sort order for all product categories in your store at once.

You can select from a few sorting options:

  • Defined by store owner (default) – depending on how you manually sort (drag-and-drop) the products in the Catalog → Categories → Category products.

  • Date added

  • Price – low to high / high to low

  • Name – A to Z / Z to A

To modify the default order settings:

1. From your store manager, go to Settings → General → Cart & Checkout.

2. In the Catalog Settings section, locate the Default products sort order settings.

3. Change it to your preferred sort order and save the changes.

Now, the chosen product sort order is applied storewide.

Note: Changing the default sort order affects all categories. If you select any setting other than “Defined by store owner”, and later reorder products within a specific category, the changes won't reflect on the storefront.

Reorder products within a specific category

4. Then go to Catalog → Categories and click the desired category.
