Default product sort order

By default, your products will be sorted based on the date they were created.

That means that visitors will see the most recently created products at the very top of your storefront.

You have a few options when it comes to sorting your products.

You can decide to sort them:

  • Manually
  • By the newest product, based on the date that the product was created
  • By the highest or lowest product price
  • By the product title (in alphabetical order or in reverse alphabetical order)

Changing the product sort order

1. In Online store settings, click on General and then Cart and Checkout.

2. In Catalog Settings, toggle your sort order under the Default Products Sort Order option.

3. Choose your preferred product sort order, and save your changes. Your new sort order will be applied storewide.

Reorder products within a specific category

You can create a custom order for a particular product category manually like this:

1. In Online store settings, click on General and then Cart and Checkout.

2. In Catalog Settings, choose Defined by store order under the Default Products Sort Order option.

3. Next, click on Catalog and then Categories. Choose the category you want to edit.

4. Click on the Category products tab, and drag and drop the products in the order you want.

Tip: If you select any setting other than Defined by store owner, and later manually reorder products within a specific category, your changes won't be shown in your store.
