How to Add Link Preview Images

Learn how to add and troubleshoot a link preview image

You can set an image that illustrates the content of your website, its specific page, or a blog post. Link preview images are visible when sharing your website links on social media platforms. It helps search engines and potential website visitors better understand your content.

Preview images can be added in the following places:

General Website Settings

You can upload a general preview image for your website in the general website settings. Click Add image or Replace image and upload your file:

The recommended preview image size is 1200×630 PX. Once you add an image, save the changes and update your website.

NOTE: This general website preview image is automatically used for all website pages unless you add individual preview images to each of them (see below)


Page Settings

To add individual preview images for each website page, expand the Pages and navigation panel on the left and open the page settings:

In the page settings, open the Social image tab, click Add image or Replace image and upload your file:

The recommended preview image size is 1200×630 PX. Once you add an image, save the changes and update your website.


Blog Post Settings

Once you add an image, save the changes and update your website.


Troubleshooting

Keep in mind that the change is not immediate – it can take up to several hours for the link preview image to be updated.

However, make sure that:

  • The editor isn’t open in multiple browser tabs/devices simultaneously

  • The uploaded file is not too large nor too small:

    • The recommended preview image size is 1200×630 PX

    • The max file size is 15 MB

  • You've uploaded the file in the supported format: .PNG or .JPG

  • You've updated the website after making the changes

Lastly, and it's most often the best solution, clear the cache of the service where you're trying to share your website by using these debugger tools:

For example, if you're sharing your website on Facebook:

  1. Insert the URL of your website, page, or blog post

  2. Click Debug and check if the correct image is showing there
