How to Create Legal Pages and Hyperlink Them in the Footer

NOTE: If you've already created legal pages, jump to step 6

1. Within the editor, open the Pages and navigation panel on the left and click Add page.

2. Rename the page (e.g., Privacy Policy), and save the changes. In the page settings, you can also edit the URL, customize SEO, and other settings.

3. Within the newly created page, place the cursor in-between two sections and click Add section to open a pop-up with the menu of sections.

4. On the left, you'll find various templates for sections. Search for Privacy policy, Refund policy, or Terms and conditions depending on what you'd like to add to your website, and click on the section thumbnail on the right:

What Legal Pages Are Necessary?

What legal information is necessary for your website depends on your business and on the laws and regulations in your country.

Most often, you will need the following pages:

Terms and Conditions

This document explains the rules for using your website or online store

Privacy Policy

This document informs your customers what information is collected through your website. This may include things like:

  • Use of cookies

  • How you process personal information (emails, addresses, names, etc.)

  • Whether you distribute this information to any third party and if so – what for, when, etc.

Customers want to know if their personal data will be exposed to third parties or used for newsletters or other communication. By providing a clear explanation, you can be sure to increase your brand's liability among your clients. A privacy policy is also required by law in some countries – for example, the GDPR in Europe requires every business to explicitly explain to its customers how their data is collected, used, and stored.

Payment Information

The payment info page should cover all possible questions about payment methods in your store

Shipping Information

The shipping information page in turn explains your delivery policy and may include the following information:

  • What items are allowed for shipment

  • Regions to which you deliver your goods

  • Terms of delivery

  • Estimated shipping time and price

  • How you handle returns

Return Policy or Refund Policy

This document specifies your terms for refunds and product returns in your online store

Templates for Website Policies

You may use various online tools for generating various templates for privacy policies, terms of service, etc. For example:

NOTES:
