There are several ways to connect your GoDaddy domain to your Zyro website.

Note: Before connecting a domain, make sure that your website template is connected to a Zyro plan – learn how 💡

Connect your domain by updating its name servers

  1. From your Zyro dashboard, open your website's Domain settings.

  2. Click Connect your own domainUse a domain I already own elsewhere, insert your GoDaddy domain name, and click Continue.

  3. From the domain providers list, select GoDaddy and click Continue.

  4. Open a new tab in your browser and log in to your GoDaddy Domain Control Center. Select your domain to access the Domain Settings page.

  5. Under Additional Settings, select Manage DNS.

  6. In the Nameservers section, select Change:

    1. Choose Enter my own nameservers (advanced).

    2. Delete all current name servers.

    3. Enter the two Zyro name servers: dns1.zyro.com and dns2.zyro.com and

    4. Check the box next to Yes, I consent to update Nameservers for the selected domain(s).

  7. Come back to your Zyro account, and confirm all the steps in the domain connection window.

Note: This way, your domain's DNS zone would be managed from Zyro. Most DNS updates take effect within an hour but could take up to 48 hours to update globally. GoDaddy's reference: Change nameservers for my domains.

Connect your domain via CNAME redirection

  1. From your Zyro dashboard, open your website's Domain settings.

  2. Click Connect your own domainUse a domain I already own elsewhere, insert your GoDaddy domain name, and click Continue.

  3. From the domain providers list, select GoDaddy and click Continue.

  4. Log in to your GoDaddy Domain Control Center and at your Zyro tab, click I signed in.

  5. Then, at Zyro, skip the Replace the nameservers values step – simply click Replaced them and Done (without making any changes at GoDaddy) to finish the domain connection at Zyro.

  6. Now, at GoDaddy, select your domain to access the Domain Settings page.

  7. Select Manage DNS under Additional Settings.

  8. Create a CNAME record:

    1. Select Add to add a new record.

      select add new record
    2. Select CNAME from the Type menu options.

    3. Enter the details for your new CNAME record:

      1. Name: www

      2. Value: connect.zyrosite.com

      3. TTL: 1 hour

      4. Select Add Record to save your new CNAME record.

      5. Select Save.

  9. Finally, set up automatic forwarding for the main domain (@ or yourdomain.tld) to open www.yourdomain.tldlearn how 💡

Note: This way, your domain's DNS zone would remain at GoDaddy. Most DNS updates take effect within an hour but could take up to 48 hours to update globally.
