Google Search Console: URL is not on Google, but not because of an error

Learn more about how Google indexes pages

Updated over a week ago

URL is not on Google, but not because of an error is a warning shown on the URL inspection page in Google Search Console:

It may sound intimidating, but it's actually a very common warning. It simply means that Google has received the request to index your pages, but hasn’t done that yet.

You can also check the Coverage section in Google Search Console – it shows indexed pages, not indexed pages, and pages with errors. In the Excluded tab, you can see the number of discovered but not-indexed pages and how it varies day by day:

The time of indexing depends on the authority of your website, which itself depends on different factors: traffic, content, backlinks, website speed.

The homepage and other important, content-heavy pages are usually indexed faster. Secondary pages might take weeks or months to get indexed.
