The titles and descriptions should be clear and concise pieces of information about what exactly users can expect to find on your pages. Learn how to add and troubleshoot these attributes 💡

Adding meta titles and descriptions

Within your website's editor, access the SEO settings. Here, you can add two types of meta titles and descriptions:

  1. General meta title and description of your website:

  2. Individual meta titles and descriptions for each of your website pages:

If you add both general and individual meta titles, they are separated by a pipe in the search results: General title | Page title.

You can leave the fields for the general meta title and description empty and insert only individual meta information for pages.

If you don't add individual meta information for your website pages, the general title and description are automatically added to them.

  • The recommended meta title length is up to 60 symbols (spaces included)

  • The recommended meta description length is up to 160 symbols (spaces included)

After making any changes, remember to update your website.

NOTES:

  • Product SEO settings are managed in the product page settings

  • New meta titles and descriptions show up in browser tabs and social media posts after updating a website; however, it may take up to a month for these titles and descriptions to reflect in search results

Troubleshooting meta titles and descriptions

If you can't see the page meta titles updated in browser tabs, follow these steps to troubleshoot it:

  • Check if they are added and saved in your SEO settings

  • Make sure to update your website

  • Clear the cache or

    • Check the website using an incognito/private browsing window

    • Open the website using another device (e.g., your smartphone, tablet, or friend's PC)

    • Open the website using different networks (try Wi-Fi instead of mobile data or vice versa)
